Abstract:
This paper looks at the conditions of the informal sector working women of Bahawalpur city in
southern Punjab in the perspective of Labour Protection Policy of the Government of Pakistan. It is
thus as much a study of the working conditions of informal labour as of the rule of law. We have
quoted the relevant law and conventions signed and made into law by the Government of Pakistan
and we have documented the condition of the informal sector working women. Labour legislation for
the informal sector is completely divorced from its implementation.
